Federal Self-Employed Worker Program
In order to qualify under the Federal Self-Employed Worker program, potential applicants must demonstrate:
- Within the last 5 years, have at least 2 years of relevant experience:
- Self-employment in cultural activities or athletics;
- Participation at a world-class level in cultural activities or athletics;
- Farm management experience.
- Intention and ability to create their own business which would contribute to Canadian culture and athletics; OR intention and ability to purchase and manage a farm in Canada;
- Net worth of at least $100,000 CAD.
Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program
In order to qualify under the Quebec Self-Employed Worker program, potential applicants must demonstrate:
- Net assets of at least $100,000 CAD that have been legally obtained (and where applicable, with your spouse or common-law spouse, provided he/she is accompanying you);
- Minimum 2 years experience as a self-employed worker in the same profession or trade that you plan on practising in Quebec;
- Intention to come to Quebec to operate a business where you will be able to practice the same profession or trade as practiced prior to coming to Quebec
Unlike the Federal Self-Employed Worker program, Quebec does not limit applicants to those who have experience in cultural, athletics or farming
