THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS
In October of 2006, Quebec changed their immigration evaluation structure. The new evaluation structure reflects Quebec's desire to attract younger immigrants, whom have specialized education in particular fields of study.

In order to be successful in an application for permanent residence as a skilled worker in Quebec, you must meet the following criteria:
  1. Be between the ages of 18 and 35;
  2. Have as a minimum, a post-secondary technical or professional diploma or a 3 year university diploma;
  3. Have as a minimum, 6 months of work experience;
  4. Be fluent orally in the French language;

In addition, other factors that will be considered:
  1. Your diploma was issued by an institution in Quebec;
  2. Your diploma is in a preferred area of training (please note: the areas of training preferred will change year to year, and is dependent on the needs of the Quebec society);
  3. Second diploma, which is in a different field of study than your first diploma;
  4. Fluency in the English language;
  5. Previous study, work or travel in Quebec;
  6. Family in Quebec;
  7. Valid job offer in Quebec;
  8. If you have any children.
