In order to be successful in an application for permanent residence as a skilled worker in Canada, you must meet certain criteria:

1. Be between the ages of 21 and 49;
2. Have as a minimum, a 2 year university diploma or a 2 year post-secondary diploma;
3. Be fluent in English or French;
4. In the last 10 years, have at least 1 year of work experience (preferably 2 years) in a qualifying employment category;

In addition, other factors that will be considered:

1. Spouse's education credentials;
2. Previous study or work in Canada;
3. Family in Canada;
4. Assured employment offer in Canada.
